Presidential Powerpoints Assignment

Here are the requirements for this relatively simple and short assignment. Your presentation should only last 4-5 minutes. You will make one for each of your two (or three) presidents. They will be presented in the order of the Presidents' service. Finally, you should email them to me so I can have them ready for the day of presentation.

1. For each PowerPoint, you must have at least seven slides. Make sure you have some pictures. Go easy on the foo-foo animations, etc. Here is what they should be.

At least one slide for

A. Title Slide
B. Election Slide and Years of Service
C. Biggest Achievement Slide (What was the best decision the President made during his term in office?)
D. Biggest Failure Slide (What was the biggest mistake the President made?)
E. Most important event that happened during his Presidency (does not have to be anything the President did)
E. Other events/ things that happened
F. Bibliography Slide (where did you find your information?)

You may only have a maximum of 20 words per slide. This is to make sure you know what you are talking about when presenting. No reading from books during the presentation. Your PowerPoint will be scored according to 1. Following directions, 2. How well did it look, 3. Knowledge and 4. Presentation

We will begin these presentations November 9-10.

Blog Response Question #2

After viewing the film "Is America #1?" Please answer the following questions by leaving a comment after this post. Please answer in the 1, 2, 3, 4 format.

1. Is America really #1?
2. What is America the best in the world at? (Grammar teachers shudder)
3. What are our weaknesses?
4. Are our schools #1?
5. What can be done to improve our country? (Pick a specific topic and run with it. Give ideas, please.)

I expect this to be answered for Reds 1 and 2 by the end of Thursday. Gold Days TBA.

Please take your time to give a well-thought out position.
